Possible traffic disruption at the Furlong Car Park

The Ringwood Gateway development is finally about to get underway, how exciting?

However, in order for the magnificent end result of a beautiful new civic building there needs to be the inevitable disruption of noise, road works etc.

The access to the Furlong car park will change at the start of July to allow the workers to create their work area in preperation for the main building works.

The construction is scheduled to commence in August by Osbornes who are a local building contractor. A letter has been sent out to local residents to outline the proposed work requirements.

This project is a partnership between Ringwood Town Council, New Forest District Council and Hampshire County Council to create a new 'state of the art' public building in a more central location than is currently.

The architect has hopefully come up with an innovative, cost-effective, user friendly and 'pleasing on the eye' building that Ringwood locals can be proud of.

Like most old towns in the UK Ringwood needs some regeneration to bring a new modern twist to inspire local people and wow the tourists as they come in their droves. Mixing old with new is a concept that I embrace because it brings a balance to a place.

The work is due to be completed by May 2012, lets hope they stick to plan and create something wonderful.
