Anti-social behaviour on Friday and Saturday night is local peoples main police priority
This month they have been asked to tackle 'anti-social behaviour on Friday and Saturday nights'. A 'test' for all the pubs in the town was set up to see if they would sell alcohol to young people under the age of 18 years. All public houses in Ringwood town centre passed this test.
Licensing was reviewed for the late night establishment Legends so see if anything could be done about reducing the intake of alcohol and Police continued to use their powers to remove anti-social persons from the town.
Another area for concern was the anti-social behaviour at the bridge at Bickerley. This is the site for many young people to cool off in hot weather but sometimes behaviour can become quite rowdy for people passing. The Police are monitoring this spot but the number of complaints have been limited.
Did you know about the Beat Surgeries held at Ringwood Library every fortnight? They are held between 1030 and 12 the next one being 5th July. These surgeries are designed for the local community to meet the local police and talk to them about any concerns they have.
Our local Police Officers are promoting the use of lanyards for ladies to connect their purses to their handbags. They are giving these away to help keep the theft of purses to a minmum so pop into the Ringwood Police Station to collect yours.
