Police officers patrolling Ringwood have created a map of crime and antisocial behaviour in the area. The map shows that 94 incidents were dealt with in Ringwood in the month of December 2010.

Kingsbury Lane had the largest range of crime, with 2 incidents of violent crime, 1 incident of vehicle crime, and 1 ‘other’ crime (this includes all other crime reported to the police including criminal damage, shoplifting and drugs offences). Also high up on the list are: Forest Gate Court, Market Place, Meeting House Lane, and Snails Lane.

Go to http://www.police.uk and type in Ringwood to click on street maps for your area and find out the crime levels for your road and other streets where you live, work and shop. Also you can find out telephone and email details for your local police officers, PCSO 13342 Sam Knight and Joanne PC KEELING.

The website also offers advice on how to stay safe from burglary and robbery, keeping your car safe, how to report anti-social behaviour, and how to see how many criminals have been brought to justice in Ringwood.

PCSO Sam Knight, who has been based at Ringwood Police Station for the last 4 years, said: “As a part of my role I will conduct high visibility patrols in your neighbourhood on foot or cycle taking all opportunities to increase public confidence and reassurance. Whilst on patrol I will often utilise current legislation and good practice to tackle crime and ASB, using powers as appropriate to deter instances of nuisance or anti-social behaviour such as confiscation of alcohol from young persons. In particular we work alongside the local schools to provide advice, reassurance and often participate in delivering presentations.”

Get involved - your next neighbourhood Meeting/Surgery takes place on 25th February 2011, 2:30p.m. at Tesco express, Butlers Lane, Ringwood. This is an opportunity to speak with the local Safer Neighbourhood Team to discuss local priorities and emerging issues.

Really !? I didn't think it would be so high in Ringwood ! I know on a Friday or Saturday night it can get a little "loud" at closing time but i didn;t think the crime would be anywhere near 94 crimes in a month !
