Ringwood Cemetery facilities vandalised

It is a very sad day when we see stories on
-
Ringwood Cemetery Toilets
-
Ringwood Cemetery
-
Ringwood Cemetery main path
the front page of the Forest Journal of the Ringwood Cemetery being ‘Desecrated’.
The Cemetery in Ringwood is a very quiet and beautiful place for those grieving
for relatives and visitors to pay their respects. This disrespectful behaviour
is not what we want in our community and these people should be brought to task
over this appalling lack of respect.
The toilets were found in a dreadful state and this was not apparently a one
off event, this had been happening on a regular basis and grounds men were required to
clear it up each week before visitors arrived.
The toilet facilities have been closed now for the weekend as a result. I spoke to a gentleman visiting his wife’s grave today and he was
clearly very upset by this incident. He
told me this is not the first time the cemetery has been hit by unacceptable
behaviour. A while ago a group of youths were using the cemetery as a
playground, playing football and using the pathways to race their bikes. Due
to this carry on the main gates had to be locked at 4pm each night.
It is always the minority that choose to
unset the status quo for the majority of good law abiding local citizens. This
sacred place is one area that you would expect to be kept safe from harm from
vandals.

How about having a lock with a pin number on so all the relatives who 'do' have graves to visit and want to spend time there can use the facilities by entereing a pin code on the door?
