Meanies. I guess you could name and shame them! What are we talking about £20, £50, £100?????
If it's a donation that's required they would look like real cheapskates if they refused. Like you say mate - the carnival is to help local charities and causes...so if the company concerned is Ringwood based - local people might boycott them!!

Would you believe £60? How low do you need to be to not give that?!
And I understand from my colleagues on the committee (I've only been involved this last couple of years) that this is not the first time that they've done this...

In that case - looks as though they won't cough up the dosh this time!
Next year - chop down their banner and cut it into pieces. It will probably cost them at least sixty quid to get a new one. Doesn't help the charity funds - but will beat them at their own game.
